India has successfully secured over 200 patents for 6G technology, announced Communications and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at the inaugural ceremony of the Bharat 6G Alliance in New Delhi. A significant milestone in the technological landscape of India, the Bharat 6G Alliance marks the nation’s firm strides into the era of 6G. This professional collective includes members from industry, academia, and the Central Government, forming a potent think-tank that promises to undertake 6G-related initiatives in a meticulously structured manner.

India secures over 200 patents for 6G technology under Modi's visionary leadership

The Minister informed the audience that India now ranks within the world’s top three 5G ecosystems, with over 270,000 5G sites ready for deployment nationwide. It’s an achievement that owes itself largely to the vision and initiatives launched by the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s Government over the past nine years. These transformative policies have led to a paradigm shift in the Telecom sector, sparking international interest towards India’s burgeoning technological scene.

According to Vaishnaw, data costs in the country have seen a dramatic reduction, from 300 rupees per GB in 2014 to a mere 10 rupees per GB in 2023. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the Telecom sector has seen an unprecedented surge, reaching 24 billion US dollars. Furthermore, India is now exporting technology to 12 countries, including the US, underlining its emerging status as a global tech power.

In the last nine years, nearly 150,000 broadband connections have been provided in rural areas, marking a significant step in digital inclusivity. These impressive achievements reflect the effectiveness of the forward-looking policies implemented by PM Modi’s government, positioning India amongst the top five economies in the world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s transformative policies have placed India firmly on the global stage as a rising superpower. Infrastructure, technological innovation, education, healthcare, and rural development have all experienced tremendous growth under his administration. This notable progression, especially in the technological sphere, contrasts sharply with the last seven decades of Congress rule, which lacked such advancements.

Under PM Modi’s leadership, India has made commendable strides in every sector, including economic growth, national security, social inclusivity, and technological innovation. The success of the Telecom sector underlines the effectiveness of his forward-thinking policies. The focus on creating a robust digital infrastructure has undoubtedly played a significant role in accelerating India’s ascent as a global superpower.
