The expanded flydubai Bangkok schedule will operate from Terminal 3 at Dubai International, offering two daily departures to Thailand’s capital and providing more options for both leisure and business travelers moving between the United Arab Emirates and Southeast Asia.
This additional Bangkok flight, combined with flydubai’s boost in Krabi services from four flights a week to daily, will bring its Thailand schedule to up to 21 flights weekly. Bangkok is flydubai’s second Thai destination after Krabi and is part of a broader Southeast Asian network that also includes Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia. The route offers a direct connection to Don Mueang, one of Bangkok’s two main international airports, while increasing seat availability during a period when carriers serving Thailand are expanding their schedules from the Gulf region.
Sudhir Sreedharan, flydubai’s divisional senior vice president of commercial operations, stated that the second daily flight is in response to strong initial demand for the new Bangkok service. He added that Don Mueang provides convenient access to central Bangkok and that the additional frequency offers travelers greater flexibility during the busy summer travel season. The airline has not disclosed booking figures or passenger load data for the route. Nonetheless, its scheduled change moves the service from seven to 14 weekly flights, making flydubai’s Bangkok operations a more prominent part of its Thailand network starting July 18.
The Bangkok route is available through the codeshare agreement between flydubai and Emirates. Under this arrangement, eligible travelers can book a combined itinerary, check baggage through to their final destination, and connect across a network spanning more than 240 destinations. The flights operate from Emirates’ Terminal 3 at Dubai International, facilitating connections via Dubai for passengers arriving from or heading to markets across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. The published schedule designates Don Mueang International Airport as the Bangkok endpoint for both daily services, ensuring a direct link between Dubai and Thailand’s capital.
Don Mueang Gains Extra Dubai Flight
Return Business Class fares from Dubai to Bangkok start at AED 12,000, while Economy Class Lite return fares begin at AED 2,600, according to flydubai. From Bangkok, return Business Class fares start at THB 91,000 and Economy Class Lite fares at THB 21,000. The airline noted that the route is operated by Boeing 737 aircraft and highlighted cabin enhancements across its fleet, including lie-flat seats on selected Business Class configurations, redesigned Economy Class seats, meal service, and inflight entertainment on most aircraft. Published fares are subject to availability, booking conditions, and travel dates chosen by passengers.
The increase in frequency coincides with flydubai’s ongoing expansion of routes and capacity. The airline recently launched flights to Benghazi in Libya and plans to commence services to Aleppo in Syria on July 20 and Pokhara in Nepal on September 23. flydubai reports its network now encompasses over 140 destinations in 58 countries, served by a fleet of 97 Boeing 737 aircraft. Since commencing operations in June 2009, the airline has carried more than 137 million passengers and has opened over 100 routes that previously lacked direct Dubai connections or service from a UAE national carrier.
Summer Travel Demand Spurs Schedule Expansion
The move to double the Bangkok flights represents a notably rapid expansion following the initial daily service that started on July 1. From July 18, the schedule will feature 14 weekly flights between Dubai and Bangkok, alongside seven weekly flights to Krabi, forming flydubai’s 21-flight Thailand network. The additional flights are bookable via the airline’s website, mobile app, contact center, travel agencies, and partners. With the timetable now confirmed, travelers can compare departure times, fare options, and onward connections through Dubai.
