SHARJAH, UAE / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia is set to commence direct flights between Sharjah and Gdansk on Dec. 14, 2026, marking the introduction of a new route linking the UAE with northern Poland. The airline will operate five weekly flights between Sharjah International Airport and Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport. Flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This route offers residents of Poland’s Pomeranian region a direct air connection to Sharjah.
On Mondays and Saturdays, flight G9 0628 departs Sharjah at 4 p.m. and arrives in Gdansk at 8 p.m., while return flight G9 0629 takes off from Gdansk at 8:50 p.m. and reaches Sharjah at 6:10 a.m. the following day. The flights scheduled for Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays will depart Sharjah at 8:15 a.m., with the return service leaving Gdansk at 1:05 p.m. and arriving in Sharjah at 10:25 p.m.
With the addition of Gdansk, Air Arabia will operate four destinations in Poland from Sharjah following its December expansion, including Krakow and Warsaw Chopin Airport, already served from its main UAE hub. Furthermore, the airline will launch flights to Katowice on Dec. 17, 2026, three days after the Gdansk route begins. The new Katowice service will operate four times weekly, extending the airline’s Polish route network.
Gdansk enhances direct connectivity with northern Poland
The new Gdansk route introduces a Baltic coast destination to Air Arabia’s European network from Sharjah. The airline already services key European hubs such as Athens, Vienna, Prague, Milan, Munich, Rome, and London Gatwick. Gdansk Airport serves not only the Tri-City area comprising Gdansk, Gdynia, and Sopot but also wider northern Poland, offering both domestic and international flights for leisure and business travelers across the region.
Air Arabia Group CEO Adel Al Ali expressed that the Gdansk route would strengthen the airline’s presence in Poland. Tomasz Kloskowski, President of Gdansk Airport, emphasized the direct link between the Pomeranian region and the UAE, highlighting that Sharjah is a transfer hub for onward travel to destinations in India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and East Africa. These new flights will connect Gdansk passengers to Air Arabia’s wider network via its Sharjah base.
Five weekly flights scheduled to start in December
Air Arabia’s fleet, comprising Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, has opened bookings for the Gdansk route. The airline lists flight G9 0628 for departures from Sharjah on Mondays and Saturdays, with G9 0629 serving the return sectors. On Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, flights will use G9 0626 departing from Sharjah and G9 0627 from Gdansk. All scheduled times are local, and the route will be nonstop in both directions.
The inaugural flight on December 14 will expand Air Arabia’s direct Polish network just prior to the launch of its Katowice service. With Krakow and Warsaw already in operation, these December additions will bring the total Polish destinations served from Sharjah to four. Gdansk will feature five weekly flights, while Katowice will operate four weekly flights under the current schedule. The airline confirms that the Gdansk route will commence on December 14, 2026, with five weekly flights.
